Jingle bells.....

Well, everybody knows, its that time of the year, Christmas is just round the corner, everybody is singing carols, making merry, eating merrily and putting on weight as well lol. Predictably, all the tv channels are also wearing a "Christmassy" air. So, Dooby has been seeing her tv adnauseum and on Cbeebies they were showing how children decorate the tree, make cards, etc etc. Obviously our monkey immediately wanted a tree of her own to decorate. And Daddy dearest instantly obliged :). They both happily decorated the said tree, put on the stars, baubles, gifts etc, when D realised there was a beeg problem!"You forgot the Santa Daddy! It definitely is a beeg problem isnt it, because after all, for a kid Santa is the most important part of Christmas, I guess for adults too, lol. Anyway, they finished up with a promise from Daddy that a Santa would be in place asap, not to worry. The whole picture was complete, only after D sang "Jingle Bells, although:) On another ...

The last 20....

Scene: I was driving back from dropping Dooby in school, when suddenly I was hit by a wave of extreme hunger....knew I was hungry before leaving, but thought I could come back and breakfast.... bad decision...ended up puking bile while sitting on a bike... yeck !!!Thankfully, I was able to stop my bike and then empty my empty insides.... realised I was ravenous (damn slow on the uptake, you may say, but anyway) and knew I wouldnt last till I got home and made breakfast, so decided I would have to fill myself with something, not that the baby wasnt taking up all available space... but you get it.... thats when a worse thought dawned on me, if things could get any worse... I remembered rather belatedly that I had not withdrawn any money and had also forgotten to flick some from R's purse,(do you guys do this lol );these cards nowadays help you roam around without one naya aana in your purse, because they even work in teashops sometimes!!!! So, this thought led to some desperate...

The weekend that was.........

Well, I have been dying to share this with everyone I know....this weekend was the bestest!!!!! and obviously so, since it was spent at The Courtyard by Marriot, nothing less!! LOL. Well, lemme tell you guys, how it all happened......no, my hubby didnt fall in love with me again and decide to celebrate it here....but he definitely gave me a fabulous surprise.....:), it so happens that his company patronises The Marriot so often that they decided it was time to appropriately thank the person responsible for so much cheer....R;and thats how me, Dooby and R landed up at The Marriot, chauffeur driven on Saturday afternoon and life was simply groovy till Sunday evening :) We were courteously checked in to a simply lovely room and told to simply chill out till 4pm, which is when they were going to take us, with another 19 families on a guided tour of their property. This was an exercise on their part to familiarise their customers with the front and more importantly, the back of the hotel;th...

My very first Tag!!!!

Yippee!!! For a long time there, I have read a zillion tags on a whole range of subjects, most were super funny, droll, some were boring, but all in all, I always thought to meself , well, when is my turn going to come? It didnt , *sob*, literally begged for one and Nitya very sweetly obliged:) So here goes:);I am sure I cant be as funny, but enough of preamble, lets dig in LOL 1. WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes. 2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes, but my first born was born out of my first marriage, got divorced a year after she was born, you would think that I would be once bitten, twice shy, but no, I wanted to eat the Shaadi ka laddu again LOL , touch wood, things have been fine till now and its been a year and half. 3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? Was thrilled to bits. 4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? Since it was planned......I guess abortion wouldnt be something you would consider:) 5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? 26 6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? No story here, used the...

This and that

So Dooby loves the concept of explaining the size of things by categorizing them into mummy, daddy, sister and baby (oh, ya according to the size of her family, LOL , ofcourse , shes going by height, if she went by width, Mummy would be biggest, LOL ), but guess what, even her Potty is not spared from size description.... theres mummy potty, baby potty....you get the drift, Yeck !!!! Today, she said, Mummy you must come tomorrow in Saree and drop me to school, talk about being fashion conscious at this tender age!!!! Tch , tch , today's consumerist kids!!! Do they put some magic into the Maggi Noodles????, I had to threaten to throw the packet to get Madmoiselle to eat her lunch today, this after a few ego tantrums, over not being given noodles for lunch???Besides being a serial addict, shes turned into a noodle addict also, LOL . On a different note, I am going to sue all the kiddy channels, you take so much effort to get the kid to give up her ego and eat humble pie and then ...

A long update

Well, I started my blog a week ago, with sincere resolutions of blogging, ahem, twice a day and all that and this was on Feb 27th!Well, it helps to think that February has only 28 days, so technically I have been away for lesser number of days, but still!!! Anyway, let me draw up an update:) 1. Changed Dooby's school from Parent Choice to Vael's Billabong, was super nervous about this, considering I was changing from a very free environment to a proper school;thought I would have the toughest time ever, but kids as usual amaze you, she has almost settled down in 3 days flat;ofcourse the first day had me reviewing all my decisions and cursing myself and all that, but now things seem to be going just fine! One could say that its because theres a whole lot of new stuff, as in, new uniform, ne shoes, bag et all:)( you know todays consumerist kids). Well, "they" all say, that you could have a problem when the novelty wears off, so lets just cross our fingers and wait anxiou...

Daddy and Dooby

For starters, if at all anybody ever reads this blog, :)for their info, Dooby is my daughter's pet name, dont ask why, she is actually called Meghana, but my mom kept this silly name when she was a tiny tot and it just somehow stuck! To come back to the the point, me thinks, girls will always be dippy on their Dads:) ( exception: me and my sis) To establish this point, let me tell you what happened this morning;as usual, the mad morning rush was in full swing, me running helter skelter from one room to the other, well nowadays the "running" has reduced to an ugly waddle(thanks to being 7 months preggie), R languidly(as usual, such a contrast to my behaviour), lighting up a fag;Dooby was picking out her shoes to wear; she has a shoe fetish, like her Dad, has a mini shoe shop, but wont tire of buying a few more, at the first chance. She took out yet another "pink" pair (she has a fixation with that colour these days, the way shes going, she will want her hair to ...
